Musk's Daughter Leashes a Robot in Brand Film, Decries AI's Encroachment on Human Jobs

Vivian Wilson, the 22-year-old daughter of Elon Musk, has been appointed face of Spanish label Desigual's 'Born Rebellious' campaign for fall 2026. In the film, AI is taunted through a series of absurd directives issued to DESI 84, a robot styled after Tesla's humanoid: it is ordered to serve as a golf tee, to be leashed and walked as a pet, to mow a lawn, and to perform an on-bed routine.

Vivian Wilson, the 22-year-old daughter of Elon Musk, has been named image ambassador for Spanish fashion house Desigual's fall 2026 collection, per international reports. In the 'Born Rebellious' campaign, AI is challenged with unmistakable irreverence.

DESI 84, whose design and motion reference Tesla's humanoid, is subjected to a cascade of instructions outside its programming: deployment as a golf tee, leashed walks as a pet, lawn mowing, and an on-bed routine. Overwhelmed by the successive demands, the robot loses control, strikes a wall, and shuts down entirely.

The robot, notably, is not genuine hardware: the part was performed by an actor wearing motion equipment and completed through 3D compositing. The director's team observed, wryly, that a world preoccupied with AI displacing workers has instead seen humans hired to displace robots.

Through the partnership, Ms. Wilson articulated her central reservations about AI. The technology, in her account, is disrupting fashion's creative sector — eroding employment for a broad swath of creators while imposing an environmental cost. Art, she contends, is at its core an expression of human feeling; AI output, assembled from preexisting material, is judged to lack genuine creative spirit.

Born Xavier Musk, Ms. Wilson is long estranged from her father; following her gender transition, she relinquished the Musk surname in favor of her mother's. The interview, however, was steered away from family discord and toward fashion's principles, closing with a call for reduced overconsumption, hands-on reworking of old clothing, and the pursuit of a personal aesthetic.
